Andrew Read currently serves as Director of the Office of Economic Growth for USAID in Ghana. He entered the Foreign Service in 2010 as an Agriculture Officer and has worked in USAID Missions in Bangladesh, Kenya and Tanzania. In addition to his background in agriculture, Andrew has managed portfolios for natural resource management as well as water sanitation, hygiene and nutrition. Before USAID, Andrew worked as a Horticulture Extension Agent for the University of Missouri. His duties included advising farmers, business owners and the general public on growing practices for crops ranging from turf to fruits and vegetables to vineyards. Prior to working for the University of Missouri, Andrew ran his own farm growing mainly cut flowers for wholesale and retail customers in St. Louis, Missouri.
