Mr. Nortey is a significant voice and advocate for improved agricultural governance at the national, regional and continental levels. He is a prominent member of several public-initiated platforms and has been instrumental in the formulation and design of numerous policies and programs including the current National Agricultural policy.
At the continental level, he is the convener for Ghana’s Non-State Actors on the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development programme (CAADP) and Biennial Review agenda and also represents farmers on the Continental NSA platform Coordination Team. He has participated in several domestic and international convening platforms, notable among them being the ECOWAS Biennial Review and Joint Sector Meetings, CAADP Partnership Platform (PP) meetings and Africa Food Systems Forum.
He is a member of the Technical Working Groups currently working on the development of the CAADP Post-Malabo Agenda. His main area of focus are agricultural governance, climate change and sustainable farming and food sovereignty.
