Trained in food safety, hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) and best practices in the food industry. Raised in the Central Region of Ghana, Charity attended Swedru International School, Swedru Secondary School and Cape-Coast Technical University
From a humble beginning, I have stood up for myself and others leading advocacy for women economic empowerment. I work with hundreds of profiled small holder farmers creating a ready market for their produce 70% of whom are women.
An accountant by profession, worked at Chemico Limited for
11 years including national service. Founded Meannan Foods in September 2006 while still in employment, with the processing of 4 products. Meannan foods now boast of over 30 processed African foods, 36 direct employees and over 300 indirect employees on the fields producing for us. Worked with industry giants such as Shoprite, Game, Melcom and Palace and Marina supermarket chains.
In December 2015 1 quit my accounting job to focus full time as the Team Lead and CEO of my side hustle (Meannan Foods) which had grown substantially with a work force of 15. My work in the agribusiness space has been featured and published in magazines, newspapers, television, radio and on the web both nationally and internationally. This has earned me many recognitions and awards home and abroad. My contribution to the formulation of the egg Standards in Ghana earned me the innovator of the year at Global Innovators and inventors awards 2018 in London, 40 under 40 Agri-business of the year 2019, District Agro-food processor of the year at the 2019 national farmers Day, and the 2023 Regional (Greater Accra Region) food processor of the year at the National Farmers day celebrations.
I volunteer to speak on my work, Agri-business and women empowerment. I volunteer to train women owned start-ups, teach entrepreneurship in secondary schools and founded an entrepreneurship club in my alma mater (SWESCO) to help students consider entrepreneurship intentionally and not an option when they fail to secure desired jobs. My passion for the Ghana poultry industry led to my spearheading the national egg campaign with support of USDA and Ghana poultry project. An alumna of the US Government IVLP program and alumna of many internationally recognized fellowships.
