Juliette, is country Manager for AGRA and an international development professional with more than 23 years’ experience in development practice and management with core expertise in market systems development, working with International NGOs. Juliette has extensive experience in a wide range of sectors including Local Economic Development, Sustainable Livelihoods, Microfinance, Value chains development, Governance, WASH, and Disaster Risk Reduction & Response.
Before joining AGRA Juliette worked as Ghana Country Director for United Purpose, a UK International development organization, for eight years and transited into the role of Country Lead for Impact Horizons to continue UP’s operations in Ghana. As country Director and team leader, Juliette provided strategic leadership and management in developing United Purposes programme in Ghana ensuring expansion of operations into 6 of the then 10 regions of Ghana. She developed and led delivery of programmes in linking smallholder farmers to markets, enhancing access to appropriate financial services for farmers and rural micro-entrepreneurs, promoting inclusive Economic Governance, with a focus on Women Economic Empowerment. She was also the Interim CEO of Northern Ghana Shea, a women focused Social Enterprise, and a Business Call to Action Member company. Prior to these, Juliette worked as Business Advisor with Technoserve where she carried out business diagnostics for MSMEs mostly agro-based enterprises.
She holds MA in Economic Policy Management, form University of Ghana, B.Sc. Agriculture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and Diploma in Development Leadership from the Coady International Institute, St. Fx. University, Halifax Canada. She also holds certificates in Livelihoods and Markets; and Community based Micro-finance also from the Coady international Institute; and Certificate in Facilitating Multi-stakeholder Processes and Social Learning from the Wageningen University.
