Prof Alex Dodoo is an Associate Professor at the University of Ghana Medical School and the Director General of the Ghana Standards Authority. He is also the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the African Organisation for Standardisation the African Union body for national standards authorities in Africa. He is Ghana’s representative to the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).
Professor Dodoo is a pharmacist, a clinical pharmacologist, a consumer rights advocate and a trade facilitator. He was President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana from 2008 to 2012, President of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance from 2009 to 2012. He serves on several national and international boards and committees.
Prof Alex Dodoo is passionate about skills development and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and is the Professor-in-Residence to the Design & Technology Institute, a private TVET institution in Ghana. He is deeply interested in pragmatic solutions to address youth unemployment.
